The data was collected as part of the research project Societal awareness of linguistic variation and change (LANGAWARE). First, statements were presented relating to language use. The statements concerned, among other things, mixing languages, ways of communicating, following grammar rules, and personal linguistic skills. After this, the respondents were asked to describe their thoughts on colloquial language, the English language use in Finnish, and language change. They were also asked to list linguistic expressions that they use in writing but not in speech. Next, various example words were presented, and respondents were asked to assess the extent to which they use these linguistic expressions in their own speech and communication. After this, dialectal expressions were presented, and respondents were asked to use different pairs of adjectives to assess what kind of image they had of these expressions. Finally, open-ended questions were used to ask respondents for their thoughts on language use and linguistic research. Rural Finland survey explores the meaning and future of rural areas. The aim of the survey is to provide information on how Finns perceive the countryside. The study is a continuation of the surveys conducted in the Landmarks Programme of the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra) in 2009 and 2011. The aim of this part of the survey is to explore Finnish citizens' perceptions of the different regions of Finland and this part includes the Swedish-speaking population of Finland. First, respondents were asked what kind of images they had of the countryside and the city. They were also asked how different areas correspond to their perception of the countryside. In addition, they wanted to know how strong the rural/urban identity was perceived by the respondents. Then, they were asked how different environments are related to their lives and how much time they spend in these different environments and places. Further questions were asked about the elements of a good life and how important respondents perceive certain things to be in terms of a good life and how they are implemented in their own case. Next, the respondents were asked what the countryside means to them today and what the countryside is likely to mean in 10 years' time. They were also asked to assess how the meaning of rural areas will change in the future. Then respondents were presented with future scenarios for the countryside and asked which of them best reflected their hopes for the future of the countryside and how they thought things would be in 2035. They were also asked about climate change and its relationship to rural areas and trends in rural development. Finally, statements were made on current issues related to the countryside. In addition, questions were asked about entrepreneurship in rural areas and whether the respondent was or was about to become an entrepreneur in a rural area. Pyydettiin myös arvioimaan, miten maaseudun merkitys tulee tulevaisuudessa muuttumaan. Tämän jälkeen vastaajille esitettiin tulevaisuudenkuvia maaseudusta ja kysyttiin, mitkä niistä parhaiten vastaisivat toiveita maaseudun tulevaisuudesta ja miten he uskovat asioiden olevan vuonna 2035. Kysyttiin myös ilmastonmuutoksesta ja sen suhteesta maaseutuun ja maaseudun kehityssuuntiin. Lopuksi esitettiin vielä väittämiä ajankohtaisista maaseutuun liittyvistä aiheista. The respondents were asked to evaluate, for example, the news accuracy, the alleged politicisation of the news media, and the characteristics of traditional media. Those who had used AI were asked about their primary purpose for doing so, the impact on task efficiency and output quality, and whether they used AI in their work. In addition, the survey addressed respondents' views on political participation and the role of ethnic minorities in politics. Next, respondents were asked about their voting intentions in the 2023 parliamentary elections. They were also asked to what extent various factors and characteristics influence their choice of party and candidate or their decision not to vote. Respondents also indicated which parties they believe are best positioned to promote the interests of ethnic minority groups in Finland. Following this, respondents were asked to evaluate various options regarding the future direction of Finland. Following this, they evaluated different future policy directions for Finland, including issues such as promoting equality, increasing immigration, taxation policy, the size of the public sector, and combating climate change. Finally, respondents were asked whether they had experienced discrimination in the past five years. It is part of the project commissioned by Work in Finland to overview of the labour recruitment ecosystem in the Philippines. The survey explored the nature of recruitment and whether respondents had come to Finland to work or study. They reported their current field of employment, the match between their work and education, their educational background, and any additional training completed in Finland. The study also examined whether respondents sent money to their families in the Philippines and whether they intended to remain in Finland permanently. In relation to the period before their recruitment process began, respondents described how they had first learned about opportunities in Finland, what had motivated them to pursue employment, how familiar and prepared they had been for Finnish working life and relocation, and how actively they had searched for information. They also indicated how easy it had been to access information and which factors had influenced their choice of recruitment path. Regarding the period of their recruitment process, respondents described which type of agency or employer had handled their application and outlined both positive aspects and challenges they had experienced. They reported on communication, documentation, legal procedures, financial costs, support received, and the clarity of job descriptions and salary information. They also noted any experiences of discrimination, the expenses incurred, and whether they had been required to take Finnish language training. In connection with the post-recruitment process, respondents assessed their sense of belonging in their work community and identified what information or support would have better prepared them for Finnish working life. They also highlighted changes they considered necessary in the recruitment process and provided reflections on family reunification and ethical recruitment.. The respondents were then asked more generally about the benefits or harms they had experienced from using complementary and alternative medicine. In addition, the survey explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the use of complementary and alternative medicine, natural remedies, and self-help practices. After this, the respondents were presented with various statements about health and the disease treatment, which they were asked to evaluate. They were also asked to assess their own health status.
